Story & Track Info

On April 9, 1990, Austrian deathers Pungent Stench released their debut album called "For God Your Soul, For Me Your Flesh" via Nuclear Blast. The Vianna trio, consisting of Schirenc Git/Vocals, Wank on drums and Perkowski on bass, was one of the most extreme European death metal bands at this era, influenced by the early grind wave and the macabre lyrics including "Wiener Schmäh".

The band existed from 1988 to 2007 and was partly revived again in 2013 by Martin Schirenc under the banner "The Church of Pungent Stench" and since 2014 continued as "Schirenc Plays Pungent Stench"
The former boss Alex Wank attacks this project incessantly!

The PS albums "For God Your Soul..." (1990), "Been Caught Buttering" (1991) and the work "Masters of Moral...", which was released in 2001, are very much appreciated by me personally and especially the first album is a great influence for DoA.

For the 34th birthday of the PS debut I did a cover version of the opener of this great album, titled "Extreme Deformity". The song was first officially released on the demo "Mucous Secretion" in May 1988 and on the 3-track EP also titled "Extreme Deformity" in September 1989.

The DoA version is based heavily on the 1990 version, the riff tempo was changed slightly and the drums were adapted to DoA's playing style.
The DoA version omits the long introductory part and starts at around 2:30 of the original song.
